Born in the Bronx, this veteran character actor started his career in New York, showcasing his talents in various nightclubs, theater productions, and films. During the 1970s, he appeared in over 100 commercials, solidifying his presence in the entertainment industry.
Most notably, Stuart is recognized for his iconic role as Cpl. Chuck Boyle, the enthusiastic and dedicated aide to Sgt. Vince Carter, played by Frank Sutton, on the beloved 1960s sitcom "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." alongside Jim Nabors, from 1965 to 1968.
Throughout his illustrious career, Stuart made numerous guest appearances on popular TV shows such as "Mister Ed," "Bewitched," "General Hospital," "Golden Girls," "Mama's Family," and many more.
On stage, Stuart had the privilege of performing in several Broadway productions, including "Café Crown" and "Curtain Going Down." His most recent stage credits include local Theatre Forty productions of "Absurd Person Singular" and "The Sunshine Boys." A long-standing member of Theatre West, Stuart was an integral part of the community.
Sadly, Roy Stuart passed away on Christmas Day in 2005 due to complications from cancer at the Motion Picture and Television Fund hospital in Woodland Hills.
