Biography

Rosemary Forsyth, a stunning Canadian actress, was born on July 6, 1943, in Montreal. She moved to New York at the age of five with her divorced mother, who found work as a model. Inspired by her mother's career, Rosemary developed a passion for acting and studied drama in high school.

As a teenager, she began modeling and attended the Wynn Handman Drama School. Her beauty and talent soon caught the attention of Universal, and she was groomed for TV and film roles. She appeared alongside top male stars such as James Stewart, Charlton Heston, Dean Martin, and Alain Delon in films like Shenandoah, The War Lord, Texas Across the River, and more.

In 1966, Rosemary married actor Michael Tolan and took a leave of absence from filming to have their daughter, Alexandra. Although her maternity leave was a joyous and fulfilling experience, it temporarily put a damper on her career. She returned to acting with films like Where It's At and Some Kind of a Nut, but never quite reached the same level of success as before her maternity leave.

Rosemary continued to work in television, appearing in numerous TV-movies and episodic guest roles. She played the role of Laura Horton on Days of Our Lives from 1976 to 1980 and had regular parts on Santa Barbara and General Hospital. In recent years, she has appeared in various TV shows, often playing more mature roles, including Monk, NYPD Blue, and Without a Trace.

Rosemary has also appeared in several films, often playing mom or professional types. Her last appearances were in the TV movies Sweet Nothing in My Ear, Providence, Boston Public, Monk, NYPD Blue, and Without a Trace. She has been married and divorced three times, including to actor Michael Tolan.
