Rosemarie Braddock DeWitt, a renowned American actress, was born on October 26, 1971, in Flushing, Queens, New York. Her parents, Rosemarie Baddock and Kenny DeWitt, played a significant role in her early life. Growing up in Hanover Township, New Jersey, DeWitt attended Whippany Park High School, where she was actively involved in school productions.

DeWitt's passion for acting led her to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. She began her journey by performing in numerous off-Broadway plays, including John Patrick Shanley's Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, George S. Kaufman's The Butter and Egg Man, and Craig Lucas' Small Tragedy. Her outstanding performance in Small Tragedy earned her an Obie Award alongside the entire cast.

DeWitt's television credits include Showtime's series United States of Tara, where she played Tara's sister, Charmaine. She also appeared in Season 1 of AMC's Mad Men, as Midge Daniels, the bohemian mistress of Don Draper, and returned for one episode in Season 4. Her other notable television roles include FBI hostage negotiator Emily Lehman in the Fox series Standoff and appearances in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Sex and the City, Rescue Me, and Love Monkey.
