Rory Gilbert is a renowned Atlanta-based actor, boasting a diverse repertoire of roles in notable productions such as Point Man (2018) for Sony Pictures, In the Shadows of South Hill (2019) for the Discovery Channel, and Heroes of the Sky: The Mighty Eighth Air Force (2020) for National Geographic, among others.
Initially, Rory signed with Evolution Talent Agency in 2016, based in Atlanta and Charlotte, working closely with his agent Beth Saunders until his relocation to New York City in 2018.
In 2018, Rory received the prestigious Kenan fellowship from the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, which inspired his move to the city. During his time at the Lincoln Center, Rory produced, wrote, directed, and acted in his own play, 'Silent Knight', with guidance and financial support from the center. 2019 marked a year of significant milestones for Rory, including his first TV role in Discovery Channel's In the Shadows of South Hill (2019),his first major voiceover role in National Geographic's Heroes of the Eighth Air Force (2020),and his admission to the Equity Membership Candidate Program (EMC),a distinction often achieved later in a performer's career.
Rory has also made a name for himself on stage, starring in notable productions such as 'Rock of Ages' at Cygnet Theatre, 'Silent Knight' at the Lincoln Center's Clark Theater, and 'Luna', a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and UNCSA.
The Society of American Fight Directors has certified Rory in knife and unarmed combat choreography, further expanding his skillset.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Rory began his actor training at the age of 16 at the SC Governor's School for the Arts. He later pursued conservatory training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, graduating in 2016 with a BFA in Acting & Directing. His training at UNCSA encompassed various acting techniques for stage and film, singing, dance, voice and speech, and stage combat, as well as directing classes.
