Ronnie del Carmen, a renowned animation professional, joined Pixar Animation Studios in the summer of 2000, during the production of the highly acclaimed film "Finding Nemo". As a story supervisor on the film, he played a pivotal role in its creation.
Del Carmen's impressive portfolio includes production design on the Academy Award-nominated short film "One Man Band" and story work on the Oscar-winning film "Ratatouille". His exceptional skills and creativity have earned him recognition and accolades within the animation industry.
As the Head of Story on Disney/Pixar's Academy Award-winning feature "Up", Del Carmen's expertise and vision were instrumental in bringing the film to life. He also co-directed Disney/Pixar's "Inside Out", a groundbreaking animated feature that has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide.
In addition to his work on feature and short films, Del Carmen made his directorial debut with the short film "Dug's Special Mission", which was released on the "Up" DVD and Blu-Ray. His artistic talents have also been showcased in the children's book "My Name is Dug", written by Kiki Thorpe, which he illustrated.
Prior to joining Pixar, Del Carmen attended the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising. He moved to the United States in 1989 and began his career as a storyboard artist for Batman: The Animated Series. He then worked as a story supervisor for DreamWorks, further honing his skills and expertise in the animation industry.
