Biography

Ron Hanks was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he attended Little Rock Central High School. During his time at the school, he made his debut in both his first play, "Oklahoma!", and his first film, the Walt Disney television movie "The Ernest Green Story" in 1993. The film, which was based on the 1957 integration crisis at Central, had a profound impact on Ron's desire to pursue a career in acting.

Ron went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre and English from Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, and later received his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout his time at DePaul, he performed in over twenty plays, musicals, and operas, including "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "A Lie of the Mind", "The Beggar's Opera", "Yerma", and "The Selfish Giant". He also appeared in various commercials and films, such as "Chasing the Dragon" in 2000, "Sunset Town" in 2003, and "Uncle Nino" in 2003.

After graduating from DePaul, Ron moved to New York City, where he quickly booked his first National Tour as "Peter" in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe". He loved traveling and performing across the country, and upon returning to New York, he continued to act in various productions, including "The Wizard of Oz" and "Peter Pan". He also co-founded the comedy group "The Serious Theatre Collective".

In addition to his acting career, Ron developed a passion for chocolate. He helped open stores in Manhattan for two high-end companies, which led him to relocate to Los Angeles. In LA, he continued to work for a Belgium-based chocolate company, opening stores across California and the Southwest.

Ron returned to acting in 2011, starring in the short film "Two Tickets to Paradise" and appearing as a doctor in the television show "Killer Outbreaks" for Animal Planet.
