Romany's professional journey began with a stint as assistant to producer Angie Fielder on the highly anticipated Weinstein Company/See Saw Films feature film 'Lion', starring the talented Nicole Kidman, Dev Patel, and Rooney Mara.
Prior to this, Romany worked as a production and development assistant at Aquarius Films in Sydney from 2012 to 2015. During her time there, she assisted creative producer Angie Fielder on a number of short-form projects, including 'Oscar Wilde's The Nightingale and The Rose', directed by the accomplished Del Kathryn Barton, a two-time Archibald prize winner, and Brendan Fletcher ('Mad Bastards').
Romany also had the opportunity to produce the music clip 'Nightingale Floor' for director David Barker, which earned Barker the prestigious Directors Guild award for Best Music Video in 2014.
Romany's educational background includes studying acting at the Queensland University of Technology, graduating in 2006. She then pursued a Graduate Certificate in Producing for Film and TV at the Australian Film Television and Radio School in 2011.
Following her studies, Romany spent a brief period as a producers attachment with Jamie Hilton at See Pictures before joining Aquarius Films.
