Róisín Burns, an English-born individual, was nurtured in Liverpool, where the distinctive Merseybeat rhythms, the energetic chants of football enthusiasts, and the soothing waves of the Irish Sea harmoniously blended to shape her early life. It was during her time at Paris 1 that she crafted Passing Tides, a captivating short documentary, which was precariously purchased by France 3 in tandem with Premiers Plans. This enchanting film made its way to various festivals in France and beyond, garnering widespread attention. In the year 2021, she embarked on a screenwriting journey at La Fémis, where she began weaving the narrative for her debut feature-length film. Concurrently, she devoted her creative energies to developing her inaugural fiction short, Wonderwall, a production of Barberousse Films. This remarkable short film, Wonderwall, garnered the Audience Award and the Moulin d'Andé's Coup de Coeur Award at the Côté Court festival, held in June 2023. Moreover, it has been honored with the prestigious CLOS residency (FIFIB 2022) and has received valuable writing support from the Île-de-France region.
