Next person biography:
Bolivia's thriving film industry has been significantly influenced by the visionary talents of Bellot. As a multifaceted creative force, he has not only directed but also written and produced his breakthrough film, "Sexual Dependency", which was followed by his subsequent hit, "Who Killed the White Llama?", a hilarious road comedy.
Bellot co-founded La Fabrica, Bolivia's first film school, where he has mentored students who have worked on his projects as part of their thesis. In addition, he co-produced "Lo mas bonito y mis mejores anos" (The Most Beautiful of My Very Best Years),the debut feature of Fabrica alumnus Martin Boulocq.
Bellot has recently completed his first English-language feature, "Perfidia", which, although not experimental, boasts a remarkably low dialogue count of just two minutes. Outside of his film work, Bellot also moonlights as a casting director, having collaborated on notable projects such as Steven Soderbergh's "The Argentine" and "Guerrilla", as well as the French film "La Traque" (The Hunt).
Bellot is currently developing the screen adaptation of Luisa Fernanda Siles' novel "El agorero de sal" (The Salt Soothsayer) and his original screenplay "Soccer Sundays", which was a finalist in the Cannes Residency in 2006 and the NHK Screenplay Competition in 2005.
