Gardiner later attended the Acting Conservatory at SUNY Purchase in New York, where he honed his craft and developed his skills as a professional actor. Upon graduating, he joined the Waterwell Theatre, where he co-devised, co-adapted, and performed in several productions, including "The Persians" and "The Last Year in the Life of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King."
