Rodman John Myers was born in November 1998 in Detroit, Michigan. He has been actively involved in the television and film industry for seven years, with notable roles including the original Hallmark movie "Smooch" alongside Kiernan Shipka, where he played the character Sam Simon.
In addition to his acting career, Rod has also made appearances in the movie "Approaching Midnight," which was distributed by a division of Lionsgate and released on DVD and in theaters in August 2013.
Rod has received numerous awards for his work in filmmaking, including recognition for producing, directing, editing, and special effects. He has also achieved success in other areas, including the "You Be the Chemist Challenge" chemistry bee, where he was a 2013 competitor and finished in first place.
Furthermore, Rod has won awards in robotics and photography. He was a 5th place winner in the 2011 RoboFest Robotics World Championship and a 1st place winner in the 2010 International Photo Imaging Education Association photography contest, where his winning photographs traveled internationally and were displayed in several countries and throughout the United States.
Rod is also an accomplished competitive kart racer, having participated in racing events at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) for the past six years. He has received awards for his academic excellence and outstanding academic achievement, including recognition from Northwestern University's Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS).
Rod has also pursued self-education in the field of cardiology at the collegiate level. In 2011, he was accepted into the Beaumont Hospital Cardiology Team, where he assisted with EKG screening and evaluation. Additionally, he volunteers with his family at a Detroit soup kitchen.
In 2013, Rod completed a three-week, 400+ mile bike trip from Boston, Massachusetts to Portland, Maine, where he and his fellow participants carried all of their gear on their bikes and slept outdoors. Rod credits this experience with adding to his creativity in filmmaking, citing the people he met along the way and the opportunity to explore the countryside as key influences.
