Biography

Roberta E. Bassin is renowned for her captivating portrayals of a diverse range of intriguing characters across film, television, and stage. Her impressive repertoire includes iconic film roles such as "Barfly", as well as critically acclaimed performances in Oliver Stone's "Indictment: The McMartin Trial", which won the Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for Best Movie for Television, and Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar".

Roberta's extensive television credits include notable appearances in David E. Kelly's "Presumed Innocent", "Shameless", "How to Get Away With Murder", "Ray Donovan", "Major Crimes", "Criminal Minds", "Grey's Anatomy", "E.R.", "Crossing Jordan", "American Dreams", "Gideon's Crossing", and "The Pretender".

As an actress and writer, Roberta has found great joy in performing her one-woman show, "Amelia Earhart: In Her Own Words", which has also inspired her to author a companion book, "Amelia Earhart, Me and Our Friends: Journaling the Journey...The Amelia Earhart Self Help Book".

Roberta holds a Bachelor's degree from UCLA and a California Lifetime Teaching Credential. In her free time, she enjoys painting with watercolors and oils, and has been a dancer since the age of five, with a focus on ballet and jazz. She is also a skilled musician, having studied and performed on the violin, and taken up the piano as an adult.

A devoted wife and mother, Roberta married her high school prom date at the age of nineteen and is proud of her two children, both graduates of UCLA.
