Rob Steinberg was born in Philadelphia and spent his college years at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he excelled academically and created the university's first self-designed major in Communications. He graduated at the top of his class.
Following his education, Rob moved to New York City and entered the music industry, working in marketing, promotion, and management for notable acts such as Scorpions, War, and Bob Marley. He spent the 1980s in the music biz before a near-fatal car accident prompted him to switch careers and coasts.
After the accident, Rob relocated to Los Angeles and pursued a career in the film industry. His breakthrough role came in 1990 with Die Hard 2, where he played the assistant to Bill Atherton's obnoxious TV reporter. Since then, he has worked with numerous Hollywood luminaries, including Joel Silver, Lawrence Gordon, Renny Harlin, Barbet Schroeder, Jonathan Kaplan, Mimi Leder, Jim Carey, Denzel Washington, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Kurt Russell, and Academy Award winners Delbert Mann and George Clooney.
Throughout his career, Rob has appeared in over twenty films, including Unlawful Entry, Single White Female, and Ricochet. He has also made appearances in network television shows, such as Charmed, Melrose Place, and The Bold and the Beautiful, and has won several awards for his work, including a Virgo Award, a Telly Award, and a local area Emmy Award.
In addition to his acting work, Rob has also ventured into production, producing the feature films Resolution and In a Dark Place. He co-wrote a six-part children's series with Scholastic Video called "Posie Paints" and has created a half-hour television pilot called Par for the Course and an animated feature called Birds of a Feather.
Rob is currently developing several projects, including a romantic comedy set in New Orleans called Tell It Like It Is, a one-hour series about graphic Rock n' Roll called It's Ok. I'm with the Band or These Are Not the Droids You Want!, and a book of bizarre tales from his days in the music industry. He is eager to see his ambitions realized and hopes to one day escort his mother to the Oscars.
