Robert Seeliger was born on October 13, 1966, in Prince George, British Columbia, to Anne McGregor, a Scottish health care worker, and Juergen Seeliger, a German steam engineer. As the oldest of three children, Robert's parents divorced when he was just six years old, and he and his brother were raised by their father on a hobby farm in Northwestern Alberta, surrounded by cattle and horses in the foot hills of the Rocky Mountain Range.
