Robert Samuels, a devoted martial artist and aficionado of Hong Kong cinema, drew inspiration from the likes of Jim Kelly and Ron Van Clief, pioneers in the world of martial arts. His early foray into the film industry began with a minor role as a bad guy in the movie "The Gambling Ghost," where his impressive knowledge of martial arts and infectious enthusiasm left a lasting impression on Sammo Hung. This influential mentor would later offer Samuels his most significant role to date in "Don't Give A Damn," before introducing him to the renowned Yuen Wo-ping. Yuen Wo-ping, in turn, cast Samuels as one of the terrorists attempting to take control of a cruise liner in the action-packed film "The Red Wolf." Prior to this, Samuels had appeared as an extra in Teddy Robin's "Hong Kong Grafitti." Ultimately, Samuels decided to leave Hong Kong and pursue his dreams in the American film industry.
