Biography

Robert Rusler, a multi-talented individual, was born on September 20, 1965, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His early life took a unique turn when his family relocated to Hawaii, where he spent his formative years living on Waikiki Beach. This picturesque environment nurtured his passion for surfing and skateboarding, which he pursued at a semi-professional level.

As his family moved to Los Angeles, Robert's interest in martial arts grew, and he began competing in various tournaments. However, it was his innate talent for acting that eventually took center stage. Right after high school, he met his manager and enrolled in acting classes at the Loft Studio, under the guidance of Peggy Feury and William Traylor.

Robert's breakthrough role came when he starred alongside Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Downey Jr. in John Hughes' Weird Science (1985). This was followed by A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985),where he shared the screen with Marshall Bell and Robert Englund.

The 1980s saw Robert take on a variety of projects, including Thrashin' (1986) opposite Josh Brolin and Vamp (1986/I) opposite Grace Jones and Chris Makepeace. The latter earned him the award for Best Actor in a Science Fiction or Horror Film. Shag (1988),a cult classic, further solidified his status as a rising star, with numerous Teen Magazine interviews and features.

Robert's television career gained momentum with his starring role in Fox's The Outsiders (1990),which was Executive Producer Francis Ford Coppola's first television venture. He then appeared in Stephen King's Emmy Award-winning movie of the week, Sometimes They Come Back (1991),opposite Tim Matheson and Brooke Adams.

In the mid-1990s, Robert joined the cast of Babylon 5 (1993) as a series regular, garnering a significant international following and fan club. His recent projects include Warner Bros.' Underworld, The (1997/II) (TV) by Academy Award-winning writer Christopher McQuarrie and the controversial drama Wasted in Babylon (1999),which received critical acclaim for his innovative performance.

When not in front of the camera, Robert can be found pursuing his passions for surfing, snowboarding, motocross, golfing, traveling, and writing. He is also exploring his creative side by developing and writing projects that he hopes to produce and direct in the future.
