Biography

Robert Horton, born Meade Howard Horton Jr. on July 29, 1924, in Los Angeles, California, to a Mormon family. He began his contract career at MGM in 1952, adopting the acting name Robert Horton.

After his final role as a guest star on Murder, She Wrote in 1984, Horton retired from acting in 1989. Throughout his career, he appeared in a wide range of productions, including films, musical theatre, and television series.

Some of his notable roles include Apache War Smoke in 1952, Alfred Hitchcock Presents in 1955, Wagon Train in 1957, The Barbara Stanwyck Show in 1960, Matinee Theatre in 1955, As the World Turns in 1956, and The Green Slime in 1968.

Horton was married three times: to Mary Catherine Jobe, Barbara Ruick, and Marilynn Bradley, who survived him. He passed away on March 9, 2016, at the age of 91, in his native Los Angeles.
