Biography

Robert DoQui was born in 1934 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was a talented student who attended Langston University on a music scholarship, where he was a member of the popular singing group, "The Langstonaires". After a four-year stint in the U.S. Air Force, DoQui pursued a career in show business in New York.

He began appearing in films and TV shows in the mid 1960s and quickly amassed a long list of diverse and impressive credits. DoQui was known for portraying tough, hard-nosed characters with a fiery personality and steely conviction.

One of his most notable roles was as Sergeant Warren Reed in the Robocop trilogy. He also appeared in other notable films such as Coffy, Treasure of Matecumbe, Guyana: Cult of the Damned, and Miracle Mile. Additionally, DoQui worked with acclaimed director Robert Altman on several projects, including Nashville, Buffalo Bill and the Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson, and Short Cuts.

DoQui's voice acting credits include the animated series Harlem Globetrotters. He also supplied the voice of Pablo Robertson on the show.

In addition to his acting career, DoQui served on the board of directors of the Screen Actors Guild for ten years, where he advocated for greater representation of women and minority groups in the media.
