Biography

Robert Davi is a renowned actor, screenwriter, director, producer, and jazz vocalist. He has made a lasting impact in the film industry, with over 140 credits to his name. His versatility has allowed him to take on a wide range of roles, from iconic villains like Franz Sanchez in "License to Kill" to more nuanced performances in films like "The Iceman" and "Expendables 3".

Davi's early years were marked by intense study and mentorship under the guidance of legendary acting coaches like Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg. He honed his craft through rigorous training and collaboration with other industry professionals.

Born in Astoria, Queens, to Italian immigrant parents, Davi's early exposure to film came when he was cast alongside Frank Sinatra in the telefilm "Contract on Cherry Street". His breakout role as a Palestinian terrorist in the award-winning television movie "Terrorist on Trial: The United States vs. Salim Ajami" caught the attention of James Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli and writer Richard Maibaum, leading to his iconic portrayal of Colombian drug lord Franz Sanchez in "License to Kill".

Davi's extensive filmography includes cult classics and blockbuster hits, with notable roles in "The Goonies", "Raw Deal", "Die Hard", "Showgirls", and "The Iceman". He has worked with esteemed directors like Steven Spielberg, Richard Donner, and Paul Verhoeven, and has shared the screen with acting legends like Marlon Brando, Roberto Benigni, and Clint Eastwood.

In addition to his film work, Davi has also made a name for himself as a jazz vocalist. His debut album, "Davi Sings Sinatra: On the Road to Romance", was produced by Phil Ramone and shot to number 6 on Billboard's Jazz Charts. He has performed at top venues like the Venetian in Las Vegas and the Harry Chapin Theater in East Meadow, Long Island.

Davi's philanthropic efforts are just as impressive as his artistic accomplishments. He has volunteered his time with various charities, including the Dream Foundation, Exceptional Children's Foundation, and the Humane Society of the United States. He has also been the National Spokesperson for i-Safe America since its inception in 1998.

Throughout his career, Davi has received numerous awards and accolades for his work, including the George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award, the FBI's Man of the Year Award, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian Board of Governors.
