Person Biography:
Born with a passion for motion pictures, he was trained extensively from an early age in the art and craft of filmmaking. He had the opportunity to work with and learn from renowned personalities such as French director Rene Clair. His university studies and special schooling in film, television, and audio only added to his wide range of skills, which include screen writing, story editing, directing, photography, music scoring, production, editing, designing optical and special effects, and digital video post-production.
Throughout his career, he has been a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers since 1975. He earned his first screen credits as a writer of several dramatic episodes on TV Ontario and went on to write, produce, and direct for various programs, including current affairs, documentaries, news coverage, television specials, commercial spots, and musical clips.
He is the author of several feature-length screenplays and has produced and directed numerous motion pictures for Canadian pay-cable and overseas theatrical release. His music-themed television film "Northern Express" was nominated for a Genie Award for best of the year in 1975.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, he has also pursued the acquisition and development of literary properties and story rights. He has performed advisory and consulting work for financial institutions, investment groups, production companies, attorneys, and government institutions.
Some of his notable achievements include the founding and publication of the monthly trade journal "Carolina Film", the management of the rock group "Stampeders", and the acquisition and development of the Lorimar Telepictures Movie-of-the-Week "It's Just My Imagination". He has also developed and built a range of upscale commercial and residential sites in Toronto and Los Angeles, leaving a lasting impact on the urban landscape.
As a skilled negotiator, business strategist, and motivator, he has a thorough knowledge of both the domestic and international communications, media content, and leisure industries business environment and practice.
