Robert Budina, a talented individual born in Korça, Albania, has made a name for himself as an independent film producer and director. His academic background is in the Academy of Arts, Theater Directing, where he honed his skills before venturing into the world of filmmaking.
With a passion for storytelling, Robert has directed and written numerous theater plays, showcasing his versatility as a creative force. In 2001, he co-founded ERAFILM PRODUCTION Company with Sabina Kodra, which has since produced a wide range of films, including LETTERS IN THE WIND, BALKAN BAZAR, and BROKEN.
As a producer, Robert has worked on various international co-productions, such as LITTORAL, FORGIVNESS OF BLOOD, BOTA, SWORN VIRGIN, and more. His dedication to his craft has earned him recognition and accolades, including awards for Best Film and Best Male Actor.
Robert's directorial debut, the short film "LULEBORË", premiered at 40 film festivals worldwide, garnering critical acclaim and numerous awards. His first feature film, AGON, was screened at over 30 festivals, winning awards for Best Script, Best Film, and Best Male Actor. The film was also released in theaters in Albania, Greece, and broadcasted on various television channels.
AGON's success continued to grow, earning the Albanian Nomination for the OSCARS in 2014. Robert's subsequent feature film, A SHELTER AMONG THE CLOUDS, had its world premiere at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia and went on to participate in over 20 festivals worldwide, collecting several awards.
A SHELTER AMONG THE CLOUDS was released in theaters in Albania, Germany, Austria, China, and broadcasted on various television channels. Robert's latest project, THE SQUARE OF POWER, a TV series written and directed by him, premiered in 2021 on the biggest Albanian National Tv KLAN, garnering an average audience tracking of 35%.
Currently, Robert is in the preproduction phase of his third feature film, WATERDROP, a highly anticipated project that promises to captivate audiences and film festival attendees alike.
