Biography

Robert Clinton Blanche, the youngest of five siblings, entered this world on March 30, 1962, in Pomona, California, although he would spend the majority of his life in Oregon. Born to Mary Edith Blanche (Heavner) and Richard Keith Blanche, he was destined for a life filled with creativity and dedication.

As he grew older, Blanche's passion for the performing arts only intensified, leading him to join the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in 1995. This marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career, during which he would go on to serve as the President of the Portland SAG Branch for many years prior to the merger with the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). Furthermore, he would also serve as the President of the Portland SAG-AFTRA Local from 2017 to 2019.

Blanche's commitment to his craft and his industry did not stop there. He also served as the Vice Chair of the National SAG Indie Committee from 2007 to 2008, a position that allowed him to utilize his skills and expertise to benefit the independent film community. In addition to his work at the local and national levels, Blanche has been a member or alternate of several committees, including the TV/Theatrical, Low Budget, and Agency committees, since 1996.

Throughout his career, Blanche has been driven by a passion for the performing arts and a commitment to his craft. His dedication and expertise have earned him a reputation as a respected leader in the industry, and his legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of performers and industry professionals.
