Robert Alton, a ballet student in the vibrant city of New York, embarked on a remarkable journey, steadily ascending the ranks to become a renowned choreographer, leaving an indelible mark on the world of Broadway productions. As his artistic prowess continued to flourish, he transitioned seamlessly into the realm of film choreography, commencing his cinematic endeavors in 1936.
Throughout his illustrious career, Alton had the privilege of directing dance sequences in some of Hollywood's most iconic and beloved musicals, including The Harvey Girls, Easter Parade, and Show Boat, all of which were released in the mid-20th century. In addition to his impressive portfolio of film work, Alton also ventured into the world of Broadway plays, further solidifying his reputation as a master of his craft.
