Biography

Person Biography:

Robert Bartleh Cummings, also known as Rob Zombie, was born on January 12, 1965, in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He is the oldest son of Louise and Robert Cummings and has a younger brother, Michael David, who is the lead singer of Powerman 5000.

Growing up, Zombie was fascinated by horror movies, which would later influence his music and filmmaking career. He graduated from Haverhill High School in 1983 and moved to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design.

Zombie's early career was marked by his work as a production assistant on Pee-wee's Playhouse in 1986. He co-founded the band White Zombie with his then-girlfriend Sean Yseult in 1985, releasing their debut album "Soul-Crusher" in 1987.

The band's fourth extended play caught the attention of Geffen Records, leading to the release of their third studio album "La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One" in 1992, which sold over two million copies. White Zombie disbanded in 1998 after releasing their fourth and final album "Astro-Creep: 2000 - Songs of Love, Destruction and Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head".

Zombie began his solo music career in 1997, releasing his debut album "Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside the Spookshow International" in 1998. He formed his own record label, Zombie-A-Go-Go Records, in 1998 and composed the original score for the video game Twisted Metal III in 1998.

Zombie has since released several albums, including "The Sinister Urge" in 2001, "Educated Horses" in 2006, and "Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool" in 2010.
