Rob Weston, a multi award winning filmmaker, developed his first movie property in 2004, 'Where Love Reigns', which attached a wealth of talent including Martin Scorsese, Jack Cardiff, Michael Nyman, Alan Rickman, Armin Mueller Stahl, and Sarah Gadon.
Weston has since produced multiple independent movies with budgets combined in excess of $100m USD, starting out in the horror genre with his production shingle, Straightwire Entertainment Group. He quickly became known as the 'goto horror producer in the UK', producing festival favorite Gnaw, the sequel to hit horror movie Zombie Diaries, and thriller Don't Let Him In.
Weston's other notable projects include The Thompsons, the sequel to hit horror movie The Hamiltons, and the multi award winning Spanish Language horror, Die Again (Aka Wake Up And Die). In 2013, Straightwire Entertainment Group set up offices in Los Angeles, where Weston partnered with Rio Negro to remake Latin American classic Elsa And Fred, working alongside Oscar winning producer Ed Saxon and Oscar nominated director Michael Radford.
Weston then went on to adapt the award-winning novel, Dark Places, from best selling author Gillian Flynn, starring Charlize Theron, Chloe Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, and Christina Hendricks. He also made the Natasha Lyonne starrer Antibirth, which premiered at Sundance in 2016.
Weston's other notable projects include the multi award winning action thriller Redcon 1, the highly publicized Jason Mewes directorial debut, Madness In The Method, starring Mewes, Kevin Smith, Gina Carano, and Danny Trejo, and the drama, Crimson Point, starring C Thomas Howell.
Most recently, Weston wrote and produced the adventure fantasy, Legend Has It, starring Rupert Everett, Tamsin Greig, and Emilia Fox.
