Biography

Risteárd Cooper is a multifaceted Irish artist, boasting a versatile range of talents that include acting, comedy, and writing. His academic background is rooted in the esteemed Samuel Beckett Centre at Trinity College, Dublin, where he honed his craft.

Throughout his illustrious career, Cooper has had the privilege of working extensively at two of Ireland's most renowned theatrical institutions, The Gate Theatre and The Abbey Theatre. In 1998, he co-founded the comedy trio 'Après Match' alongside Barry Murphy and Gary Cooke, a venture that has undoubtedly contributed to his widespread recognition.

Beyond his work in the world of comedy, Cooper has also made a significant impact on the stage, appearing in notable productions such as Conor McPherson's 'The Weir' in the West End and the world premiere of Anne Washburn's 'Shipwreck' at The Almeida.
