Rick Garman, a native Iowan, was raised in the heart of the Midwest, where he developed a strong sense of values and a solid foundation for his future endeavors. However, as soon as he was old enough, he made the bold decision to leave his comfort zone and move to Los Angeles, driven by a desire for creative expression and a passion for the arts.
Garman's journey began with a focus on theater, as he enrolled in the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts to hone his acting skills. Although he studied diligently, he eventually came to the realization that his true calling lay elsewhere. His interests shifted towards writing, and he went on to become an award-winning playwright, earning accolades such as the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Los Angeles Theater Production.
Beyond his work as a playwright, Garman has also made a name for himself as a television writer, with a plethora of TV movies either in production or in development. Additionally, he has written numerous travel guides, including titles from reputable publishers such as Frommer's, Las Vegas for Dummies, and Moon Handbooks, all of which focus on the vibrant city of Las Vegas.
When he's not busy with his writing endeavors, Garman enjoys taking road trips to explore the many wonders of America. His travels have taken him to numerous colorful destinations, but he holds a special place in his heart for Savannah, Georgia, which he considers his favorite city in the world.
In his free time, Garman can often be found indulging in his love of television, binge-watching his favorite shows from the comfort of his couch.
