Born in a small town in Louisiana in the year 1944, Richert's early life laid the foundation for a future filled with creativity and artistic expression. It was during his time in New York that Richert formed a long-standing friendship with writer and director Richard Benner, a collaboration that would result in Richert appearing in not one, but two of Benner's films. The first of these was the 1980 film "Happy Birthday, Gemini," while the second was the 1977 film "Outrageous!", a movie that would go on to become a cult classic.
In addition to his work in film, Richert has also had a successful career on the Broadway stage. One of his most notable appearances was in the infamous 1976 production of "Oh Calcutta!", a show that was known for its risqué humor and provocative content. Richert's performance in this production was met with critical acclaim, and he continued to work in the world of regional theatre throughout the 1980s.
