Biography

Richard Young, a multifaceted American artist, was born on December 17, 1945. Throughout his extensive career, spanning from the early 1970s, he has made a significant impact in various fields, including acting, independent filmmaking, screenwriting, photography, and art.

Notably, Young gained widespread recognition for his starring role in the opening sequence of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). His feature film appearances also include notable titles such as The Ice Pirates (1984),Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985),and An Innocent Man (1989).

In the 1990s, Young shifted his focus to documentary filmmaking, taking on a cameraman role for a project about a woman who had fled to the United States after the Bosnian War. During the filming process, the crew discovered that the woman's family had gone missing in Croatia, prompting Young, the crew, and the woman to venture into the war zone in search of any surviving family members.

This harrowing experience had a profound effect on Young, leading him to reevaluate his priorities upon his return to the United States. He chose to dedicate himself to his passion for photography, and is currently working on documenting his experiences in Croatia, either through a screenplay or autobiography.

As of 2018, Young resides in Seattle, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where he operates Silverwing Images, a fine art photography studio.
