Richard John Reliford, also known as RichRel, is a multifaceted individual with a plethora of talents and accomplishments. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was raised in the southwestern suburb of Bolingbrook, Illinois, where he was one of 11 children in his family, with seven sisters and three brothers.
As a scholar and entertainer, Richard has always had a passion for learning and performing. He received a full football scholarship to the University of Akron, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Polymer Engineering. During his time at the university, he achieved numerous accolades, including being named Freshman of the Year, Academic All-MAC, team captain, 4-year letter-man, member of the NCAAASAAC, and a National Football Foundation honoree, with NFL prospects.
Richard's foray into acting began in 2000, when he performed a short skit with the legendary Bill Cosby at the EJ Thomas Performance Arts Hall in Akron, Ohio. After graduating from college and realizing that football wasn't his calling, he decided to pursue acting full-time in Chicago. He eventually relocated to Los Angeles, where his career began to flourish.
With a versatile resume, Richard has appeared in movies, television shows, national commercials, and plays. He is perhaps best known for his recurring role on the soap opera General Hospital, a guest appearance in the ABC comedy Happy Endings, and his latest starring role in the movie Frat Brothers.
Beyond his acting career, Richard is a dedicated humanitarian. He founded the organization "Keeping it R.E.Y.A.L" (Reaching and Encouraging Young Adult Lives),which provides life coaching, speaking, and hosting services. He has also been involved in various initiatives to raise funds and awareness for the Clean Water Crisis, including working with Team World Vision.
Recently, Richard launched an event, organization, and movement called Mission1Race, which can be found at Mission1Race.org.
