Rhys was born and raised in the picturesque province of Nova Scotia, where his love for the performing arts was nurtured from a young age.
Whether he's treading the boards of a stage or captivating audiences on screen, Rhys is renowned for bringing his distinctive vision, unwavering honesty, and infectious sense of humor to every project he undertakes.
As a child, Rhys honed his craft at the esteemed Neptune Theatre school, and has since been working as a professional actor, writer, and director for nearly fifteen years. He was an integral part of the sketch comedy troupe, Henmen, which received widespread acclaim and four-star reviews at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In his capacity as Co-Artistic Director of Misery Loves Theatre Company, Rhys has been instrumental in achieving numerous accolades, including Best Comedy at the Atlantic Fringe Festival in both 2012 and 2013. He has also had the privilege of touring extensively with Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia and has performed alongside most of the professional theatre companies in Nova Scotia, including Neptune Theatre and Shakespeare by the Sea.
In 2014, Rhys's outstanding performance in the title role of Hamlet earned him the coveted cover spot on "The Coast" in Halifax, following his recognition as Best Actor in their annual reader's poll. He also received the ACTRA Maritimes "Outstanding Male Performance in a Lead Role" award for his captivating portrayal in the film Roaming.
Throughout his illustrious career, Rhys has consistently demonstrated a deep passion for using his art to not only entertain, but to inspire and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
