Rhode Montijo, a talented individual, earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from California College of Arts and Crafts in 1996, marking the beginning of his illustrious career. His artistic endeavors received a significant boost courtesy of a grant from the Xeric Foundation, allowing him to share his comic, 'Pablo's Inferno', with a broader audience.
Throughout his professional journey, Rhode Montijo has been passionate about working on his self-published comic, while also supplementing his income by engaging in character design and storyboarding for various multimedia projects.
In addition to his self-published work, Rhode Montijo has had the opportunity to collaborate with Mondo Media on several occasions, including the creation of the popular dark-humored flash cartoon series, Happy Tree Friends, in 2000. During his tenure on the show, he wore multiple hats, serving as writer, director, art director, and even providing the voices for Lumpy and Splendid.
After dedicating five years to Happy Tree Friends, Rhode Montijo officially parted ways with the show in 2004 to focus more intently on his comic-book work, allowing him to explore new creative avenues and further hone his craft.
