Person Biography:
Rene Lavan is a Cuban-born actor has who made a name for himself in both the General and Spanish markets. He was born in Artemisa, Cuba and began his acting career on Broadway in 2005 with the critically acclaimed play "Latinologues".
Early in his career, Lavan worked with Benicio Del Toro on the feature film "Guerrilla" directed by Steven Soderbergh. He also appeared in the film "Christmas With The Kranks" alongside Tim Allen, Jaime Lee Curtis, Dan Aykroyd, and Cheech Marin.
Lavan has also had a successful career in television, starring in the ABC soap opera "One Life to Live" and the critically acclaimed feature film "Bitter Sugar", which was inspired by true events of the oppressive Cuban regime.
In addition to his work in film and television, Lavan has appeared in numerous television and radio commercials and has hosted several TV shows, including the Billboard Music Awards and Fox Sports.
Lavan has also been featured in several publications, including "Vanity Fair", "Harper's Bazaar", "Details", and "W", as well as numerous Spanish publications. He was recently named "one of the 25 most Beautiful" by "People en Espanol Magazine".
Lavan is a true crossover actor, having successfully made a name for himself in both the General and Spanish markets. He is currently starring and producing Latino-themed television shows and films for his newly formed production company.
