Remy Hii embarked on his acting journey at the tender age of 19, landing a role with the esteemed Queensland Theatre Company in the critically acclaimed play The Estimator. This initial foray into the world of theatre marked the beginning of a successful career, with television appearances soon following in its wake.
Prior to his television debut, Hii dedicated three years to full-time study at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney, Australia, where he graduated in 2011. This rigorous education proved to be a valuable foundation for his future success.
Weeks after completing his studies, Hii was cast in Alex Proyas' film 'Paradise Lost', playing the role of a fallen Angel alongside Bradley Cooper's Lucifer. Although the production ultimately ceased due to budgetary constraints, Hii's talent and dedication did not go unnoticed.
Hii's next role was as Van Tuong Nguyen, an Australian man sentenced to death for drug trafficking in Singapore, in the television drama Better Man. His outstanding performance earned him a nomination for the AACTA Award for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama and the Graham Kennedy Award For Most Outstanding Newcomer.
Remy Hii gained international recognition as Prince Jingim, the heir to the Mongolian Empire in the Netflix/Weinstein Original production Marco Polo. To prepare for this demanding role, Hii underwent extensive physical training, mastering martial arts, archery, horse riding, and even performing his own stunts.
In 2016, Hii returned to the stage, starring in the Sydney Theatre Company production of The Golden Age.
