Biography

Rémi Fréchette is a multifaceted creative professional, excelling in the realms of direction, screenwriting, and editing, with a distinct focus on fiction and genre cinema. His academic background is rooted in film production, having graduated from Concordia University. Additionally, he has been an integral part of the Kino movement, producing numerous short films over the past fifteen years.

Throughout his career, Rémi has been involved in several notable projects that have garnered international recognition. His webseries and feature film, Les Jaunes, initially released in 2013, has traveled extensively across the globe. In 2015, he created the webseries L'étrange province, followed by the feature film Montréal Dead End in 2018 and Première vague in 2021, which received a theatrical release.

Rémi's short films have also been met with significant success, with A Night of Sweats being screened over 25 times in Quebec and continuing to be showcased. Another notable short film is Family Feast, part of the international anthology horror film Deathcember, featuring collaborations with cult directors.

Alongside his creative endeavors, Rémi devotes his time to directing and editing for both web and television platforms. He has also had the opportunity to serve as the director of Fantastiques week-ends, the Quebec section of the Fantasia festival, for seven years, as well as co-host of the Point de vues podcast for eight years (214 episodes) until 2020.
