Reiko, a talented actress, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, alongside her younger brother and a single mother who worked tirelessly as a counselor in a methadone clinic and later as the administrator of a rehabilitation corrections facility.
As a teenager, Reiko made the bold decision to relocate to Seattle, Washington, where she briefly attended the prestigious University of Washington. However, her artistic aspirations soon led her to New York City, where she began to make a name for herself in the competitive world of off-Broadway and regional theater.
Reiko's impressive resume boasts collaborations with renowned playwrights such as John Patrick Shanley, Anna Deavere Smith, Eric Bogosian, and Lyle Kessler, as well as esteemed theater directors like Marshall Mason, Jo Bonney, and Robert O'Hara. Her breakthrough role came when she landed the part of Michelle Dessler on the critically acclaimed television series, 24.
Throughout her illustrious career, Reiko has maintained a strong presence in both television and film, with recurring roles on popular shows such as Lost, Damages, and Hawaii 5-0, as well as numerous other projects. In recent years, she has expanded her repertoire to include voice-over work, most notably as Lady Bullseye in the Marvel animated series, Hit Monkey.
In addition to her acting accomplishments, Reiko has also ventured into directing and producing, earning accolades for her work on two award-winning short films. Her personal life is filled with love and joy, as she is married to Rob Clare, a respected Shakespeare teacher and director, and together they have adopted a child born in 2014.
