Rebecca Riggs is a renowned actress, best recognized for her captivating portrayal of Commandant Mele-on Grayza in the Saturn Award-winning television series Farscape. Throughout her illustrious career, she has made notable appearances in numerous Australian television shows, including Backberner, All Saints, Day of the Roses, Medivac, and Fire.
As a seasoned stage performer, Rebecca has had the privilege of working with esteemed companies such as Bell Shakespeare Company, Queensland Theatre Company, Darwin Theatre Company, La Boite, and TN. Her impressive repertoire spans a wide range of classical and modern Australian plays, featuring iconic roles like Juliet, Lady Capulet, Lady Macbeth, Trinculo, Bianca, Viola, and Kate.
Rebecca has also showcased her impressive versatility through her one-woman/fifteen-character show, The Tall Green Stranger in the Ceramic Pot, which received widespread critical acclaim and audience adoration. Her recent cabarets at the L.A. Creation Conventions, The Shower Show (2009) and Witch Way? (2011),were met with great enthusiasm and have since taken on a life of their own in Australia.
As an experienced and unpredictable improviser, Rebecca has performed with various improvisational troupes across Australia and has lent her vocal talents to bands, choirs, and a cappella groups, including Darc Marc, The Lutin Girls Choir, The Star Pickets, Schrödinger's Cats, and many more.
While her passion for performing remains unwavering, Rebecca is now dedicated to refining communication in disaster and crisis through her work with consultancy Crisis Ready and the not-for-profit organization Emergency Media and Public Affairs.
