Ray Brady's cinematic journey began with his debut feature "Boy Meets Girl" in 1994, a remarkable achievement considering it was made during his first year of studying Film & Media, with the financial support of selling his flat and its contents. The film, originally shot on 16mm, was later blown up to 35mm, allowing it to shine on the big screen. This remarkable production was showcased in competition at numerous prestigious festivals, including Edinburgh, Birmingham, Sitges, Viennale, Fantasporta, and over a dozen other major events. The film's premiere took place at the NFT 1, with subsequent screenings at the ICA and over forty other cinemas across the UK, including the Glasgow film theatre and the Irish Film Centre in Dublin.
Throughout his three-decade-long career, Ray Brady has consistently demonstrated his signature touch, infusing his films with originality and exceptional production values. His remarkable body of work has garnered international accolades, with his films frequently topping festival favorites. In his third year of studying, Ray Brady was even paid to lecture to first-year students, a testament to his expertise and influence in the film industry.
Ray Brady's partnership with Anne Nauth-Misir has been a highly successful collaboration, lasting for the past twelve years.
