At the behest of renowned animation director Bob Clampett, in the year 1975, a pivotal decision was made by Cook to apply for and subsequently secure admission to the esteemed Animation Training Program at Walt Disney Studios, where he had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of the illustrious Eric Larson.
Cook's burgeoning interest in live-action production led to a crucial assignment as a gag man and storyboard artist on his inaugural film, the cinematic masterpiece "Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo".
The multifaceted skills of Cook as an animator and sculptor soon found him collaborating with the likes of David Allen and Jim Danforth on notable films such as "Caveman" and "Q", as well as assuming solo stints as Visual Effects Supervisor on notable productions like "The Gate" and "I, Madman".
As the 1990s dawned, Cook recognized the significant advantages of computer animation and subsequently supervised the animation on a series of low-budget features, including "Demon In The Bottle" and "Redline", before being approached by the acclaimed director Peter Jackson to serve as Animation Director on the prestigious "The Lord Of The Rings" series.
