Ramy Zada was born in the city of Hawthorne, California, and spent his formative years growing up in the West San Fernando Valley. This diverse upbringing, shaped by his Greek, Finnish, and Armenian heritage, would later influence his multifaceted career in the entertainment industry.
In his school days, Ramy excelled in a variety of sports, including football, baseball, basketball, and track and field. His academic achievements earned him a degree in film production and directing from California State University, Northridge (C.S.U.N.).
After graduating, Ramy gained practical experience in the construction industry, working as a glazer and carpenter before transitioning to the film industry as a camera assistant on low-budget productions. His early stage presence was showcased in a production of Sam Shepard's "Cowboys #2" in Los Angeles.
Ramy's entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found and co-artistic direct the Court Theatre in LA, where he acted, directed, and co-produced numerous productions. He also co-produced John Cassavetes' final play, "A Woman Of Mystery," starring Gena Rowlands.
Ramy's performance in the inaugural production of Jean Genet's "Death Watch" earned him critical acclaim, leading to roles in London playwright Pam Gem's "Camille" opposite Kathleen Turner at the Long Wharf Theatre, and Michael Gazzo's "The October Night of Tommy Zero" at the Actors Studio West.
He transitioned to television and film, taking on starring roles in various series and films, including the lead role of Judge Nicholas Marshall in CBS's "Dark Justice," which was the first network TV series shot in a foreign country, Barcelona, Spain. Throughout his career, Ramy has demonstrated his versatility, effortlessly moving between sitcoms and hour-long dramas.
In addition to his acting and directing work, Ramy is also a screenwriter, voice-over actor, and has even created and hosted a food reality TV show, "America's Happy Hour." When not working, Ramy enjoys spending time outdoors, playing golf, cooking, working on his home, and traveling with his wonderful wife. He is always on the lookout for his next adventure.
