Biography

Ram Kamal Mukherjee is a renowned Bollywood journalist, film critic, and biographer, best known for his coffee-table book on actress Hema Malini, "Hema Malini Diva Unveiled" (2005),which earned him the distinction of being the youngest Bollywood biographer in India at the age of 27.

After joining the tabloid Mumbai Mirror as an Assistant Editor, Ram Kamal established himself as a notable journalist and film critic with his column "Ram Katha". He later worked as the Chief Media Strategist and Vice-President of Pritish Nandy Communications, an entertainment, news, and media content corporation, and a maker of Indian movies, based in Mumbai.

Ram Kamal's stint at PNC spanned 12 feature films, all of which were screened at various international festivals. His film journey began with Sachin Khot's "Ugly Aur Pagly" and concluded with Saket Chaudhury's "Shaadi Ke Side Effects". He also worked on yet-to-be-released projects like Sayed Akhtar Mirza's "Ek Tho Chance", Arindam Mitra's "Ek Accident", "Saluun", and Sudhir Mishra's "Aur Devdas".

As Creative Director Rangita Pritish Nandy's collaborator at PNC, Ram Kamal was involved in script doctoring, casting lead actors, media and marketing analysis. He spearheaded the marketing and media strategy for Pritish Nandy's coffee table book "Again" and art exhibition "BORED". During this period, he freelanced for publications like Mid Day, Ananda Bazar Patrika, Anandalok (ABP Group),and TV18 group.

Ram Kamal's notable achievements include his successful stint as Editor-in-Chief of India's leading film magazine Stardust, where he worked as a team leader and conducted two successful awards with Colors TV. He closely collaborated with Raj Nayak from Colors and Mohammad Moorani for the Sansui Colours Stardust Awards. Under his editorship, the magazine underwent a redesign, incorporating fresh content, gossip, and photo features.

Currently, Ram Kamal is working on his untitled fiction for Leadstart Publishing, serving as a Creative Producer with Rajshree Ojha on her television venture, and writing his next biographical book based on a leading lady from Bollywood. He is also a blogger with www.bollywoodjournalist.com and a Guest Faculty for Post Graduate students in Films and Media at Harkishan Mehta Institute of Media, Research and Analysis (HMIMRA).

With almost 1 million followers across social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, Ram Kamal is a prominent figure in the Indian film industry.
