Ralph P Martin, a stalwart resident of the East Coast, embarked on two successive summerstock apprenticeship seasons at The Woodstock Playhouse, under the guidance of M. Edgar Rosenblum, with the ultimate goal of earning his Equity card. This marked the beginning of his journey towards a career in the performing arts.
Martin's academic pursuits led him to the esteemed NYU School of the Arts, where he honed his craft and laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Prior to his arrival in Los Angeles, he made six arduous cross-country trips on foot, braving the scorching sun and earning the nickname "sunburnt thumb" in the process.
As a multifaceted artist, Ralph P Martin is a skilled 5-string banjo player and has served as the front-man for two eclectic country-bluegrass bands, Honeywagon and Smoketown Diner Boys. His impressive musical talents have also been showcased in various national commercials, including a three-year stint as the Banjo Player for Anacin Arthritis Pain Formula, where he delivered the memorable tagline: "I have arthritis, but it doesn't have me."
Throughout his career, Martin has appeared in an array of Off-Off Broadway productions in New York City, as well as numerous 99-Seaters in Los Angeles, where he relocated in 1988 at the behest of a renowned action movie star.
