Stephon Turner, professionally known as Raison Allah, was born on March 8, 1972, in the vibrant neighborhood of Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York City, NY, USA. As a cousin of the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, Raison was instrumental in forming the Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated group, Brooklyn Zu. He took it upon himself to keep his cousin's legacy alive, dedicating himself to understanding the film industry and creating a documentary that would showcase Ol' Dirty Bastard's raw talents as a movie director.
Over the years, Raison Allah has been actively involved in various film festivals, showcasing his work to a diverse audience. He has participated in prominent festivals such as the AFI DigiFest 2008, the 2009 Downtown L.A. Film Festival, the 2009 International Black Film Festival of Nashville, the 2010 New York international film festival, and the 2010 On Location: Memphis international film & music fest.
Raison's dedication to his craft has paid off, as he has won an award for Best Feature Documentary at the New York international film festival ceremonies in July 2010, held in New York City.
