Raffaello Degruttola is a talented Anglo-Italian Actor-Writer-Director who has made a significant impact in the film industry. Born in London to Italian parents from Ariano Irpino, Raff was raised in North London and Queens, New York, and began his acting journey at a young age.
As a teenager, Raff won a place at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School and continued his acting training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. He quickly established himself as a versatile character actor in American films shot in Europe, working with renowned directors such as Ron Howard, Micheal Apted, Richard Attenborough, and Mike Nichols.
In 2019, Raff appeared in a memorable cameo alongside Rebel Wilson in Chris Addison's 'The Hustle', and has since taken on roles in action-comedy 'The Killer's Game' and road trip comedy 'The Monk, The Mermaid and Molise', opposite Sally Phillips and Pink Floyd's Guy Pratt. In 2010, he wrote and directed 'The Other Side of My Sleep', a 30-minute short film inspired by the deaths of his father and grandmother, which opened the Boston Film Festival. He went on to direct and star in his first feature film, 'Flim the Movie', a biting satire of the indie film world shot in an edgy mockumentary style, which was nominated for Best British Debut at the Moet British Independent Film Awards.
Raff's most recent projects include writing and directing 'Transference: A Love Story', a bipolar love story about control, which received a special mention from the judges at SRFF 2020 and has been viewed over 27 million times on YouTube. His latest feature, 'To Love A Narcissist', starring Lyndsey Marshal alongside him, was completed in 2025.
