Radivoje Lola Đukić was a renowned Serbian and Yugoslav television, theater, and film director, as well as a comedian, born on April 3, 1923, in Smederevo.
He pursued his passion for the arts by studying painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and film direction at the High Film School in Belgrade.
Initially, Đukić worked as an editor for Radio Belgrade's Children's and Drama program, as well as the Entertainment program. He then founded the Humorist Theater (Pozorište na Terazije) and worked as an assistant director, chief, and responsible editor for the cultural and artistic program at Television Belgrade from its inception until 1963.
Throughout his career, Đukić dedicated most of his activities to comedy programs at Television Belgrade. He directed several feature films, documentaries, educational, and puppet films, and even wrote songs and theater plays for children.
As a comedy writer, Đukić is one of the most performed domestic authors of the 1960s and 1970s on Yugoslav theater stages. He made the television medium his creative home, authoring approximately 200 serial comedy shows and TV comedies and satires, with many of these directed by himself.
The author of humorous memoirs published in the book "Sclerotic Memoirs," Đukić was married to actress Vera Đukić and had a son, Andrija, who also became a director. His second wife, journalist Jelena Jovanović, worked tirelessly to ensure his work would not be forgotten after his passing.
Tragically, Radivoje Lola Đukić passed away on September 7, 1995, in Belgrade, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and entertainment that continues to be cherished by audiences to this day.
