R. Paul Dhillon is a renowned journalist, screenwriter, producer, and director, based in Vancouver, Canada, boasting a strong educational background in Communications and Film from Simon Fraser University.
With a diverse range of creative endeavors to his credit, Dhillon has written, produced, and directed numerous short and feature-length films, including his debut feature, Sweet Amerika. His upcoming feature, The Fusion Generation, is eagerly anticipated, with production recently completed by his company, MMM Films, and a planned release in 2018.
Sweet Amerika, which Dhillon co-wrote, produced, and directed for MMM Film Finance International, premiered in Canadian theaters on September 19, 2008, receiving widespread acclaim. The film made its US debut at the Spinning Wheels Film Festival of Hollywood in November 2008 and was subsequently released theatrically in the US on May 22, 2009.
Dhillon's music documentary, The Bhangra Generation, and Sweet Amerika were both acquired by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) for broadcast on their specialty channel, BOLD!
In addition to his film work, Dhillon has also produced a 13-part music documentary series, Bhangralicious, which he wrote and directed for national broadcast on Rogers OMNI Television. His recent production, the 8-hour-long documentary series, REFLECTIONS, is also set to air on Rogers OMNI Television.
Furthermore, Dhillon's documentary, Moe Sihota: Feared & Desired, was acquired by CBC's Documentary Channel. His latest feature film, The Fusion Generation, is scheduled for theatrical release in 2018, highly anticipated by fans and critics alike.
