Biography

Prithviraj Das Gupta is a renowned Indian filmmaker currently residing in the vibrant city of Mumbai. His academic background is rooted in Delhi University, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the film making society First Cut on campus. During his three-year tenure, he not only directed but also edited numerous short films that showcased his burgeoning talent. His foray into documentary filmmaking began when he collaborated with India Tribal Care, a organization operating in Northeast India. Through his films, Prithviraj delves into the intricate socio-economic fabric of Indian life, offering a unique perspective on the country's tapestry.

Prithviraj's most notable achievement is his debut mid-length feature film, "GREEN BLACKBERRIES", which he both wrote and directed. This remarkable film has been recognized as one of the best children's films of 2020 by Kidz Cinema, a prestigious organization helmed by UNESCO. "GREEN BLACKBERRIES" has been showcased at the esteemed Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) and the 51st International Film Festival of India in the Indian Panorama Section. The film has also won a special mention award at Art House Asia 2021. In addition to his feature film, Prithviraj has written, directed, and edited two short films that have garnered accolades at the Calcutta International Film Festival.
