Priscilla Barnes is an American actress, born in Fort Dix, New Jersey, to an Air Force commander. She was an average student in school and originally planned to become a dancer, joining a preteen group called "The Vivacious Vixens". However, a severe accident while performing on the Hollywood Bowl stage ended her dancing dreams.
Barnes earned attention as a beauty pageant contender, winning titles such as "Miss Hollywood", "Miss San Bernardino", and "Miss California" (runner-up). She also worked as a waitress and gained attention through her self-deprecating wit.
Her professional career began with a bit part on Peter Falk's Columbo episode, A Deadly State of Mind (1975). She later appeared in various projects, including films like Texas Detour (1978),Delta Fox (1979),and The Seniors (1978),as well as TV series like The American Girls (1978).
Barnes is best known for her role as nurse "Terri Alden" in the popular ABC slapstick comedy series, Three's Company (1976),replacing Suzanne Somers. She became a vital part of the show's cast and developed a fast friendship with co-star Joyce DeWitt.
After Three's Company, Barnes continued to work in TV, adding a feisty glamour to series like Dark Justice (1991),Viper (1994),and Murder, She Wrote (1984). She has also appeared in low-budget films, taking on more than her fair share of horror projects, including Stepfather 3 (1992) and Witch Academy (1995).
In addition to her film and TV work, Barnes has been active on the theater scene, with credits such as "Born Yesterday", "Vanities", "Bus Stop", and "A Streetcar Named Desire". She recently played Hillary Clinton in the 2007 black comedy, "Hillary Agonistes", in New York.
Barnes has been married to actor Ted Monte since 2003 and has maintained an active career into the millennium, with independent film credits including several horror yarns and action films.
