Preston Bailey was born in Portland, Oregon, and his acting career began at a tender age of 2 when he was scouted by an agent while attending his older brother Brennan Bailey's acting class, landing his first national commercial role.
This early start led to his family's relocation to Los Angeles, where he quickly booked the first role he auditioned for, showcasing his remarkable maturity, love for acting, and impressive ability to read and memorize lines at just 5 years old. His talent and dedication helped him secure numerous roles on television and in feature films.
In 2006, Preston was cast as a series regular in NBC's Alpha Mom, followed by his role as a series regular in Showtime's award-winning drama Dexter, where he played Dexter's son Cody for six years, earning him nominations for Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2009 and 2010.
In 2007, he co-starred alongside Kate Beckinsale, Vera Farmiga, and David Schwimmer in the critically acclaimed feature film Nothing But The Truth, and had guest-starring roles on CBS's Cold Case, Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother, and Numbers.
Preston's filmography includes feature films such as Children of the Corn (2009),The Crazies (2010),and Judy Moody and The Not Bummer Summer (2011),for which he won the Best Performance in a Feature Film, Young Artist Award in 2012.
In 2014, he was cast in Universal's star-studded comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West, playing the role of Albert (Young Seth MacFarlane),and also appeared as young Mac (Rob McElhenney) in FX's groundbreaking comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
