Prakash Bare is a talented Bangalore-based actor, renowned for his versatility in English and Indian language productions, spanning over three decades. With a remarkable repertoire of over 30 films, Prakash has primarily focused on critically acclaimed, socially relevant projects, such as Ivan Megharoopan, Oraalppokkam, Sufi Paranja Katha, Painting Life, and Kaattu Vithachavar, to name a few.
His latest theater endeavor is Deepan Sivaraman's The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, an adaptation of the 1920 classic German film of the same title, in which Prakash brings Dr Caligari to life on stage. Throughout his career, he has also performed or directed numerous plays inspired by the works of esteemed playwrights, including Samuel Beckett, Anton Chekhov, Neil Simon, Jayaprakash Kulur, and NN Pillai.
Prakash is actively involved in artistic and experimental theater and film productions under the banners Silicon Media and Blue Ocean Theater. As a collaborator, he has been part of several crowd-funded projects, leveraging his expertise in newer technologies and the internet to create and deliver innovative content.
In addition to his acting career, Prakash has also ventured into the realm of technopreneurship, working between the US and India. With a Master's degree from IIT Kanpur, he has successfully bridged the gap between technology and the arts.
